What Is Pendulum Healing (Radiesthesia)?
Pendulum healing is when you use a pendulum to do what is commonly called Energy Medicine, or Spiritual Healing, to affect positive changes in another person’s health and well-being. It works on body, mind, soul and spirit of the person being healed.

Traditional dowsing has been around for millennia and uses a pendulum to find answers to questions- yes or no. While this plays a role in pendulum healing, it is de-emphasized and is only a relatively small part of the pendulum healing process. Rather than using the pendulum to seek answers, the pendulum itself becomes the healing tool.
Though this form of healing is often call Egyptian Pendulum Healing it is in fact relatively new. It was developed in the 20th century in France and in Poland. Now it is practiced by a small, but growing, number of people around the world.
How it works is that the healer uses a special healing pendulum (other tools may also be used such as a Bobber or Divining Rods).
Then following a standard protocol, the pendulum healer uses the pendulum to transmit “energy” and mental messages called “thought forms” or “commands” to the energy field of the person being healed.
If the pendulum healer has other healing skills, or knows other healing modalities, the pendulum can also be used to prepare the person for that type of healing, and it can be used to help the effects of any other type of healing work to be integrated. For example, a pendulum healer could start out with pendulum work, and then transition to Reiki, acupuncture, massage, crystal healing, or any other form of healing all in a single session. Pendulum healing can also be incorporated with standard western medicine with excellent results.
While it is a very effective stand-alone treatment, the overall effect of pendulum healing is that it can also speed up the healing process, and also compliments other healing methods making them more potent.
Another use for pendulum healing is to empower affirmations. Many systems of healing use affirmations to cause positive changes, but just saying them repeatedly is often not enough. Many affirmation systems try to get around this problem by having the person do physical actions (e.g. Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping), or by saying certain phrases after the affirmation. Since pendulum healing is based on principles of positive energy, however, your words gain power and they can effect real demonstrable changes in reality. This makes pendulum healing a much more powerful way to do any type of affirmation work, since it is based on ancient occult principles known for millennia.
What is Dowsing?
First recorded use by Galileo, but probably were used long before that, pendulums have a long history of use in engineering, astronomical measurement, and divination. Pendulums are a valuable tool in all three disciplines. For the purpose of these lesson, we will look at pendulums for the purpose of divination or dowsing.
Dowsing is another name for using a pendulum. Especially when used to find water, minerals, or anything else within the earth. When we hear this term, many still see within their minds the old image of water dowsers from the movies. No matter what you used your pendulum for; it is important that differences in terminology not prevent you from learning. This is a time tested and honoured skill. Using this skill can help you find objects and get answers to questions you may have.

Pendulums are a tool and nothing more. They help you sense the energies that run throughout the entire universe. Scientists cannot accurately measure psychic abilities with their current testing abilities. Testing of psychic abilities within individuals is not always repeatable nor reliable. For science to accept something as real, they must be able to measure it and the event must be repeatable. Therefore, science does not accept the existence of these energies. People who have first-hand experience with using psychic energies, understand that science does not understand everything within our universe.
However, science and psychics agree on many things. For instance, both agree that energy never dies. It simply transmutes to a different form. Both agree everything in the universe is composed of energy. What we see and feel as a nice, solid table is in reality comprised of living, moving atoms of pure energy. We see the table as solid and items on our table do not fall through it because each item has its own unique energy waves.
Our senses are not fine-tuned enough to sense the individual energy waves in each item. All the items appear solid to us. Yet most people will agree, there are many energies, which can be felt. Have you ever stood near high power lines and felt the mild tingle of that energy on your skin? We know humans are capable of sensing some energies and not others.
Pendulums are tools that allow us to connect to our psychic abilities and obtain knowledge from energies that we have not yet learned to physically see with our eyes. The energies are real and we can learn to manipulate them. A pendulum allows us to communicate what we are sensing (reading) from the energies, more directly with our brains. You could think of it as the energies speak one language, you speak a different language and the pendulum is the translator that allows you to understand what the energies are saying.
What is a Pendulum?

Very basically, a pendulum is a symmetrical, weighted object that is hung from a single chain or cord. It’s never made of a magnetic substance, but is often a crystal. It’s also possible to use objects such as a favourite trinket, a bead, a metal ball or even a key.
The pendulum is a very simple tool and one that lets the user tune in to their intuitive powers, their sub-conscious, Higher Self, Spirit Guides and Universal energy!. The pendulum acts as a receiver and transmitter of information, and moves in different ways in response to questions.
You can make your own pendulum by attaching any smallish weight- a needle, a paper clip, a key or a ring etc. onto the end of a length of cord or string or alternatively buy one of the many long crystal quartz, rounded or pointed at one end that contains the living energies of the earth.
The string is held between the thumb and forefinger and it should be between 27 cm (9 inches) and 120 cm (40 inches) long, although to start with the string should be fairly short. If you are dowsing over a chart or a map then 15 – 20 cm is probably about right. Any excess string can be wrapped around your index finger.
Basic Use
Anyone can have a go at using a pendulum, but the main criteria is that you need to start with an open mind and put any doubts to one side. The string, chain or cord of the pendulum should be held between your thumb and forefinger in which ever hand feels most comfortable.
Some pendulums have a small metal loop or ring at the top of the chain which can make it easy to hold. When you’re ready to start, sit with your pendulum held between the thumb and forefinger of one hand and run your other hand down the length of the pendulum chain or cord, bringing your hand to rest with the bottom tip of the pendulum in your upturned palm. The pendulum should now be completely still and you can move the hand away from the bottom of the pendulum. As you move it away, the pendulum will probably start moving. This is perfectly normal.
Try and be as relaxed as possible (the more relaxed you are, the better your flow of energy will be) and sit watching the pendulum whilst it moves.
It may come to a halt after a while and you can begin to have a go at determining the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ response of your pendulum. Ask your pendulum out loud or in your mind, ‘show me a YES.’ Take time to watch the response – it may only be minor at first, but this is normal, as it takes time to get to know how your pendulum interacts with you. Pause for a while, then try the same again asking for the pendulum to show you a NO. Don’t worry if you can’t tell much difference from the yes and no responses yet – this is perfectly normal at first and you should get to be able to tell the difference with the more practice you get. For example, some pendulums will make wide circular movements in response to ‘yes’ and backward or forward swings in response to ‘no’. It’s helpful to repeat this exercise again, several times, before you’re happy with what your ‘yes’ and ‘no’ pendulum responses are. Sometimes they can change over time and, if someone else uses or inspects your pendulum, you may need to do it again to recharge it with your energy.
